Getting Around in Isla Mujeres.
In town you can get everywhere by foot except to venture out of town.
Motorcycles rent for approximately $ 60.00 pesos per hour and have an all day special price, ask before. They are a comfortable way to get to know the island. Watch out for a lot of traffic and many curves and bumps on the highway.
Bicycles rent for less, approximately $ 30.00 pesos per hour or a special rate for all day that includes a basket and a lock. This is a different way to know the island, get a tan and exercise all at the same time. Bikes are ideal for the freedom they give you while visiting all the beautiful place in town or on the bayside and to enjoy the majestic view of the Mexican Caribbean.
Watch out for the traffic and "topes" (bumps ) on the road.
At some hotels you can rent golf carts that are comfortable and can accommodate up to four adults. They are perfect for visiting alone or with the family all the interesting sites on Isla Mujeres.
The golf carts are for use only on the island and requirements for renting them are simple making a deposit and having a valid driving license. The carts have roofs to protect you from the sun and they are open on the sides to enable you to admire the turquoise sea and white beaches of Isla Mujeres.
